    Been Scrappin'!

My latest. This one of Kayla, I used my new fave: Chatterbox. The paper and fabulous twill are from a TreasurestoScrap kit.

For the Cammi layout, I used Sweetwater pp and tags.

I am so in the mood to scrap some more!! I got some BG Undressed Chipboard that I really want to alter and I saw a new technique for a title that I am going to attempt. Is it 5:00 yet??????? (It's only like 9:something a.m.)

All's Quiet on this Here Front

Yes! The day started early with Ben and Kayla here. We packed up some crackers and juice and headed to the park where we spent 3 1/2 hours playing. Back home, Kayla's friend came over and Ben's Mom picked him up. After dinner, Amanda took Kayla out to Cammi's house, where Kayla is spending the night. Jayme and Amanda went thier separate ways, and me - ahhh heaven, I am alone until they all come home tomorrow. Tomorrow, I have some cleaning I want to get to, some laundry, a little more yardwork, though the yard is looking real pretty with all the flowers blooming. Monday Kayla has a dress fitting, hers is too long and needs taken up quite a few inches. And then we will have a cookout at my niece's new home.

The rain in Pittsburgh has finally stopped! Today was a grand 78 degrees - love it!!!! Tomorrow is to be even hotter.

I rented "Rumor Has It", so I am going to pour me some fresh ice tea (just made) and I am off to watch it - ALONE!!!!!

    Hooray For 3 Day Weekends!

Monday is Memorial Day (translation - 3 day weekend). No major plans as of yet. Maybe driving down to a friend's farm for a day, maybe. Definitely cleaning and rearranging (I love the rearrange) the living and dining rooms. Kayla has a dress fitting Monday afternoon; she is the flower girl/junior bridesmaid in my neice's wedding. And Ben is staying over tonight. Got the results from the blood tests yesterday - thyroid is out of range (again!!!) so the doc ordered more tests from the lab and I guess I'll hear about a medication change some time next week. The bad, bad news is the cholesterol. 277 (194 of it is the bad stuff). The doc has given me three months to get it lowered. So, I am getting out the walking tapes and starting WW today! I am not paying for more meds! Oh, need to put some finishing touches on some LO's I have been working with. I am really pleased with what I have been creating since I started cropping almost every Friday night at the LSS. Can't wait for the new kits from Treasures to Scrap to be unveiled. I still have one kit I want to order from May's selections but May was a bad money month. But June is looking up! Speaking of June, Kayla's 8th bid is on the 11th. She wants Kaya from the American Girl Doll series. I will be ordering at the last minute and then hoping it gets here in time. Well, it's 3:40 p.m. here. Have two more dictation tapes to finish and then, hopefully, can get this desk cleaned up and be on a bus for home!

    Ch Ch Ch Changes

If I were asked what I would like most in my life, I'd answer "NO DRAMA". I've had my share. I've been the star of my show. I'd like to be a bit player for a while. But alas, not this year! Amber decided to move back in with Mommy and Daddy. Where does that leave Jayme? To move back in with Mommy. UGH! But, I also get to see Ben more often and that is way cool. He spent Friday night with us and I took Kayla and Ben to see 'Over the Hedge' Saturday afternoon. Ben laughed and slept and laughed some more. Kayla loved it, said it was the funniest movie we have seen to date. I don't know. I think Ice Age 2 was funnier. Ben was here last night, too. So, today Jayme is filing for partial custody. I'm getting ready for a rocky ride!

On the plus side, I went scrapping Friday evening. Here is a result:

The story behind the Boogie Board is that Kayla wanted it. I mean she really wanted it. So we went to the gift shop and bought it. Took her down to the ocean to try it out. She did not like it at all! She has a very healthy fear of the ocean. So, that's it. That's the story of the Boogie Board. $9.00 board for a 2 second ride. That's my girl! Oh, we did bring the Boogie Board home on the plane, too. I didn't want to, but it made it back to Pittsburgh with us. She uses it to practice land surfing.

    Okay, back to work!

    May is here. . .ALREADY!

Wow! Time really does fly!!!!! It's just breezing us right into late spring. Oh, today is gorgeous. As I got off the bus in town this morning, I stopped in at my favorite Starbucks (where they know my name and my usual morning beverage). On my walk to church, I reflected once again on how much I love my life! Truly! Even though I will always owe taxes on the house and it's always messy, even though I always run short of cash one week before pay day and I HAVE to go to work and all that, I really love my life! There is so much good about it. The grandchildren! The closeness Mom and my sister and I share. My bestest friend and granddaughter, Kayla. We have such a good, giggly time together! The blue sky, grande white chocolate mocha with skim milk and whipped cream, church, the scent of lilacs. My boss brought a bunch of lilacs in for my desk (he does every spring) and it smells SO good in here! May - here already! Today is my brother's birthday; have to remember to call. Late on my May list of things to do. Looking at April's I realize I really didn't accomplish too much that month. So, my list will be longer, hopefully my energy will last longer too! So much to do.

Changes in the air. Kayla is learning to ride her bike without training wheels. Exciting and scary, more independence for her! Bruce is seeing about an apprenticeship in Johnstown - that's about an hour and a half drive. I don't know if I could stand not coming home to Kayla every day. Changes at work. Okay, some change is good.

Gotta go make some lists. Oh, and NSD is this weekend. I have SO MUCH planned and not enough time for it all. A Friday night crop at "My Memory Page" store and then again a 12 hour crop the next day at the same place. But I also want to participate in ACOT's on-line crop. The last one was so much fun! A communion on Sunday afternoon. Oh, need to get Kayla fitted for her bridesmaid dress. Okay, my mind is on a remembering roll now. Gotta go make lists, oh and do some office work, too.
