The Wait is Over!

Every year between November and February I fall into a scrap slump. Don't know why. My kits and photos just pile up. But the slump is over! What a creative weekend I had! And now, I see that I need to do a little cleaning. I was in such a scrap frenzy. I have lots of little projects and layouts to upload later this week.

So, Jayme looked at an apartment this past weekend and he wants to start moving in this weekend. Now, now, let's try not to sound too happy. (I get a room back!)

My sister and I are looking into going to Daytona this year. Originally, we set this for next year, but we've found some good flight and room prices. I still need to book our trip to New York. I just don't know where to start.

It's rainy here today.

Today was weigh in. Didn't gain, didn't lose. I am still in first place for the moolah! $180 and counting. Just 2 more weeks and it's mine, all mine!

Well, I've got some work to do. Counting the hours til quitting time. Girls and I are going to dinner. Yum!

Have a terrific Tuesday!

Show and Tell Friday

Found this and the blinkie over at There's No Place Like Home, a cute and inspiring blog I happened upon a few days ago. I like the idea of Show and Tell. But as there are rules, I need to go home and take photos. Next week I'll be more prepared.

Completed my 1040 and got it sent in today. I'm working on my "being more organized" list this year. Cross that off.

Thank goodness it's Friday. I have a long list of things to accomplish this weekend. Here's to hoping I get a tenth of it complete. Also, have a baby shower to attend. And grocery shopping.

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

Ben Sings!

This is Ben on his 3rd birthday singing to himself. He calls himself Ben A Men. So cute! I am late in posting this. His birthday was in November. So, in watching it back, the voices don't actually go with the mouth. Can't figure out why. . .

It's Snowing

Finally! And Kayla is lucky enough to have the day off from school. Some Act 80 day. Yesterday we awoke to 8 degree weather. It was cold! Today is 20 degrees warmer, and snowing, not much, but it's a start.

I am slowly getting the house back in order after the Holidays. The tree is down and ornaments put away. Of course, as I looked back at the house on my way to work this morning, I noticed that the window decorations are still up. Heck, there is still a pumpkin sitting in a corner of the front yard. How did that get missed? And as I was cleaning my room I came across a gift I forgot to give Amanda. And to think I was finally getting my act together! Sheesh!

Looks like I am working late again tonight. Oh, well. . . ching! ching!

Had a house full of kiddies sleeping over this past weekend. I really do love having a house full of little ones. They ranged in age from 2 mos. to 13 yrs. I really need to get those bunk beds off layaway.

Lots of projects in the works. Amanda and I are working on the girls' schoolbooks, Kayla and Kaileen are coloring cookie jars (cute kit with permanent markers and shiny ceramic cookies jars picked up at Michael's on clearance for $5.00!), we are also busy creating one of a kind valentines.

I've ordered quite a few American Craft D-Ring Albums lately and am finally getting the children's layouts in order. I will have them create their own covers. I also picked up my crochet again and after a quick stop at Michael's I am attempting a cute sweater. We'll see.

Picked up 'Water for Elephants' at B&N on Friday - it's goooood!

I have to get back to work. Happy Tuesday!

Silly Ben.

Baby, it's cold outside!

8 degrees! It was cold here yesterday. Today is 20 degrees higher. Much better. Sadly, no snow. Ho hum. It's weigh in today. I think I gained. I promise to try much harder this coming week. Too close to stop now.

We had a houseful of children this past weekend. It was Ben's weekend. Cammi and Samantha stayed over Saturday night. Kaileen was over Friday and Saturday. And Sam stayed on an extra night. Sure could have used those bunks beds, but they are still on lay-away and with the taxes on the house due, we won't be seeing those til February.

I finally got the tree completely down and put away. Now for the other decorations. . .

Work is busy, people suing people. I did stop at B&N on Friday and picked up a copy of Water for Elephants. So good!

Once the taxes are paid

Curly Q

Kayla received foam curlers for Christmas. Amanda set her hair the night before last and this is how it looks:
Kayla loves it! She has just enough thickness for the curls to keep their hold. Luckily, she did not get my tight, curly, frizzy hair.

Hooray! It's Friday! Bring on the weekend. Mine will be filled with kiddies, as always. But tonight, I am going to stop at Barnes & Noble before venturing home. I plan on spending at least an hour in there browsing, having a Starbucks, just enjoying the quiet. And then I'll go home and begin my stint as Mom, Grammy, referee, playmate, cook, bottle washer, well, you get the picture.

And it's supposed to be COLD this weekend. I hope to only have to go out once and that's Sunday to Church. Otherwise, you will find me at home, warm and snug.

I hope you have a fantastic weekend!!

It's that time of year again. Self-evaluation appraisal forms will be coming out. I've jumped the gun and pretty much have mine completed. Why wait? Completing one of these is as agonizing as scraping together the real estate taxes that are due right after Christmas. The toughest for me are "What are Your Goals for the Upcoming Year?" Being here same time next year? What goals could there possibly be? Surviving the attorney? How about asking me what changes I would like to see? Better yet, can I evaluate the person(s) I work for? Now, that would be an eye-popper!
Here's Little Man lovin' his bath time.

Watched "I Am Legend". Liked it. How about American Idol? I have to give props to those who do try-out. I KNOW I can't carry a tune.

Weigh-in was Tuesday. I have 6 more pounds to goal. Wow!

It's getting colder here in PA. Could we actually be having a winter? The girls are so looking forward to a good snowfall. They want to go sledding.
Ben stayed over last night and he'll be with us again for the cold, cold weekend. I have no plans to go anywhere, I'm staying in, I'm staying warm!

Hope y'all are having a great day!

This is a shout-out to my friend Kostas. He became engaged to a lovely woman over the Holiday Season. Congratulations Kostas!!

Had the grandkiddies overnight the first weekend of the month. They were very good and alot of fun and silly! Oh, and that's a temporary tattoo on Cammi's forehead and almost everywhere else on her body. Future member of some biker group.

This past weekend everyone had that 24 hour stomach virus. Mom had it Thursday night. I got it at work and had to come home. Kayla and I slept pretty much Friday. Saturday was a little better but by then Amanda had it and last night the baby had a bit of a temp and a sour stomach. Horrible stuff! May it pass you by.

But here I am back to work. Been scrapping a bit. This is the cover to a cute book I made. It is filled with photos taken of the girls sled riding down Kelly School hill. I used Basic Grey's Half Pint Book and Heidi Grace papers along with a few others.

This cute heart shaped book is from Maya Road. It is filled
with photos from a visit to Santa in 2004. Yes, I am still a tad behind in scrapping events. I used Daisy D's papers for this.

Today is Jayme's 30th birthday, so Kayla baked him a cake from scratch and she used her decorator tips (first time). She was so proud!

I finally started taking down the tree. Yes, it will probably take me the rest of the week. But eventually it will all be packed and tucked neatly away until next year.

Oh, and Jayme went to Church with me yesterday. I wasn't sure if he would although I made going to Church one of the stipulations when he asked to move back in. And now he is looking forward to next week and Ben will be joining us, too, although he will be in the nursery, it's a good start! Now, if only my other son would see the light...

Well, I'm off. Have a great Monday!!

Some Christmas Favorites

This child is so much fun.

Okay, enough of that, we are on to a New Year!! I am kind of excited about it. This year my word is "purge". Ah, yes. And I have accumulated enough stuff that it may take the whole year to purge. As I have lost 22.2 lbs to date (7 more to go to reach my WW goal, 13 for my personal goal), I started with my clothes and bagged a whole lot to donate to the VA. I haven't gone out and bought anything new . . . yet, but I discovered a whole "new" wardrobe of suits and jeans grown back into to.

Then I moved on to a 3 drawer cart of scrapping supplies and purged. I had stuff from when I first took up the craft dating back to 2004. I donated all of that, too. Next was a junk drawer which holds junk no longer and then the drawers of the buffet. Feels good to get rid of so much unused stuff.

On the home front, Kayla, Ben and Jayme are down with stomach bugs, complete with diarrhea, vomiting and all that nasty stuff. Amanda and I are doing our best not to get it. Ugh!

Oh, we are planning a trip to New York this May. So if you've been there, any tips would be most appreciated! We will be taking Kayla to the American Girl store for her 10th birthday and Amanda wants to see the Statue of Liberty. We are hoping to go by train - exciting!

The weather here - 52 degrees. And WINDY! But can you imagine, it was up to 66 or higher this week and we are in winter!

Have a happy Wednesday!

The Boys Are Back

Ben and Jayme. They moved back in New Year's Eve. I went out and bought bunk beds for Ben and Kayla. Ben will be staying over every Wednesday and every other weekend. This past Saturday I had four of the five grandkiddies. I couldn't do that on a daily basis. I'd never go to the bathroom again. My Mom and sister came over to lend a hand. Needed it. Later that evening, Amanda, Cathy and I snuck out for a few moments alone at our local Starbucks. Needed that!

Tomorrow is weigh-in. It's been 3 weeks since the last and I am dreading getting back on that scale again. It's not that I went overboard, it's that I cooked some yummy meals during the holidays and weekends. And Kayla got a cookbook for Christmas. She loves to help in the process. So she chose a tomato cheesy soup with croƻtons and a malted milkshake to make for Saturday's dinner. I added a rotisserie chicken from the deli and Caesar BLT salad. Love that Fresh Express.

It's wet here, but lovely. 54 degrees with a high of 66. It's just not right for this time of year in these parts of the woods.

Oh, watched The Prestige yesterday. Wow! It was good. And I took pictures but need to upload them.

Happy Monday!

A Belated Happy New Year!

To all! It's been busy here (already). We had a lovely New Year's Eve. Yesterday was spent purging! Oh, yes. That is my word for this year - purge. I have too much stuff and a lot of it is going. I have the VA coming on the 16th and the garbage men - well, they won't be fond of me these next few weeks. I haven't time for a longer post, it's almost quitting time. Latest news - Jayme and Amber are splitsville - for good this time. Of course, even though I told him not to, Jayme asked to move back in. My kids never listen. Of course, I said yeah, but only for 6 months! (Right!) Later!
