Happy Birthday to the Elephants (A Day at the Zoo)

Last month, Macy's sponsored Elephant Day at the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium.  As members of the Zoo, I try to attend as many of the extra events as possible. We've been inside the lion's cage (the lions were removed), the kangaroo's night quarters (that was a bit intimidating, they joined us), toured the animal hospital, and we've slept with the fishes and the ferrets.  If you live in Pittsburgh or are relocating to Pittsburgh, join the Zoo!!!
Taming the cat
We took Elliot to Elephant's Day to help the elephants celebrate their birthdays.  We sang and ate birthday cake.  There was also face painting, crafts and games.  We lunched at the Jambo Grill.
The weather was PERFECT! Not too hot, cool enough not to break into a sweat, but not cold enough where you were chilled.  Just perfect.  Elliot was a joy.  Kayla and Doug finally got to see the new addition, "The Islands," which houses Visayan Warty Pigs, Siamangs (they are LOUD), Galapagos tortoises and more!

Getting sized up
This month we are looking forward to Zoo Boo and later in the year, Elliot will be having breakfast with Santa.
