The Goodreads Challenge for 2018 is underway! Have you set your intentions for books to read this year? My target number for this year is 24. Too low? Maybe. Last year I had originally set my reading target for 36 books. Later in the year I had to drop that number so I didn’t fail another challenge. I read 32 books. In 2016 my number was 26 which I failed by two books. However, I have been in a reading frenzy and am currently ahead of schedule. It would be nice to have to up the challenge number this year.
I do most of my reading on the bus going to and from the office. Once I arrive at home, I have two adorable children so happy to see me that the rest of the evening is all about them. However, if I added the children’s books read to them each night, I would fulfill my numbers and then some, every year.
This year I started with a list and am checking them off. However, our downtown library is rather small so it’s been a challenge to find a few of the books on my Goodreads list.
My original list:
Editing Emma, Chloe Seager
The Drowning Girls, Paula Treick DeBoard
Gone Without a Trace, Mary Torjussen
No One Knows, J.T. Ellison
Restoring Christmas, Cynthia Ruchti
Paint, H.M. Mann
It’s Always the Husband, Michele Campbell
I Let You Go, Clare Mackintosh
The City Baker’s Guide to Country Living, Louise Miller
My Husband’s Wife, Jane Corry
Not much read off the original list, however, I’ve also read Once Upon a Lie and Lies that Bind, both written by Maggie Barbieri, Stranger in the House by Shari Lapena, and Judith Flanders “A Cast of Vultures.”
You can find my Goodreads Challenge here. Out of the six books I've read to date, this one is by far my favorite. I LOVED this one!
How about you? Up for the Challenge? What’s on your reading list this year?
